Personality: Pearl is absent-minded and innocent, with a tendency to get very lost while deep in thought. Although generally soft-spoken and extremely shy, the Blackpearl side of her bubbles up and she is known to speak her mind vehemently at crucial moments.

Appearance: Of average height, with light auburn hair, usually braided in the back with abundant curls elsewhere. Pearl's favorite dress is a soft blue-white with pink accents, with as many frills and ruffles as pearl adornings. Having to adapt to strange new clothing standards, Pearl often dresses overextravangtly in similar, more modern dresses and gowns. She prefers pale pastels, and white, pink, and blue over all else. She usually does not wear jewelry, as the large pearl resting at the apex of her bosom seems to attract enough attention as is.

In the vast, colorful world of Fa'Diel, there exists a human-like race called the Jumi, whose souls and life force are contained within precious gemstone cores located in their collarbone area. Jumis traditionally pair together as Knight and Guardians, with the knight fighting to protect their guardian, and the guardian to heal the knight. These partnerships are typically decided when a knight gathers the Keys of Heart of a crystallized Jumi Guardian, and thus becomes their Knight. However, Pearl became the guardian of her knight, Elazul, quite differently.

For years, the power of their cores were sought after for their healing abilities and other magics, until they became endangered from being hunted. The Jumi eventually lost the ability to cry their tears of healing, and they sealed themselves off from the rest of the world within the Bejeweled City, Etansel. When the queen of the Jumi, the Clarius Florina, was kidnapped by the alexandrite Jumi Alexandra, and the core of Florina's Knight, Lady Blackpearl, was damaged, Pearl was born. The true Blackpearl faded away, and in her place lay a Pearl with no memories, no knowledge. In the desert, Elazul was the one to find Pearl and take her as his guardian. Blackpearl's intent was for Pearl to become the new Clarius and give her own life force to keep the Jumi alive in Florina's stead-- a noble cause, but Pearl did not consent.

The Blackpearl side of her frequently appeared to entice the healing ability out of Pearl, but her ascencion to the role of Queen of the Jumi was not to happen. With the assistance of a great adventurer [the player's character in the game], the complicated affairs of the Jumi was unravelled. The Jewel Hunter, Sandra, that had been stealing the cores of the last remaining Jumi was revealed to've been only collecting them to feed the Lord of Jewels, who in turn would heal Florina's core when he'd devoured enough stones with sufficient sparkles. It was also revealed that Sandra was Alexandra, and she sacrificed her core to be the last to bring back Florina. However, the adventurer cried for the dead and dying Jumi-- invoking the myth that any who cries for a Jumi would turn to stone. With the revival of Florina's core, the Jumi begin to come back, and together they form a tear drop crystal to bring back the hero.

With the Jumi race in order again, peaceful existence returns to the Bejeweled City. Pearl and Blackpearl coexist peacefully, when one is present the other lays dormant. As it was always Elazul who said that Pearl needed things like family and friends, rumors of an institute even greater than the Magic Academy of Geo would seem perfect for her, as she is one of the youngest Jumi and must find a place in life on her own now that she doesn't exist merely to realize someone else's dreams.
